and some Davallia fejeensis - Rabbit's Foot Fern.
I moved all three String Gardens to be under this Bald Cypress Tree. This way
they will be easier to keep and eye on them and to keep the moss moist enough
for the moss to green and grow.
At a friends house today to share my makers skills and to make a couple of standing
moss ball gardens. The large one in a hand made clay bowl from a another talented
clay artist and friend is made with some cuttings recently rooted. I have no idea what
this plant's name might be.
The small moss ball garden to it's right is made with some Dwarf Mondo Grass -
Ophiopogon japonicus ,which came from her backyard. Kind of spur of the moment
in order to use up the last of the sheet moss.
Should it not be obvious, the moss must be bound with either a fine filament of sort
or as shown in the pictures at the top of this post is a coarser type of cord. Having said
that, I had to use a fine fishing filament to secure placement of each Rabbit's Foot Fern
cuttings.
Secured some new cuttings from the friend I visited this afternoon.
We are looking at an Easter Cactus and Drunkard's Dream clippings along some
dried seed heads from an Angel Begonia. There is also a mini basket on loan for a basket making
challenge. The size of this basket is smaller than a thimble.
