Repotted Texas Ebony & Companion

This slow growing specimen gets the royal treatment by transitioning to
a very large vessel that should be fitting for this beauty.

Shortly after transplanting this specimen in the house I discover this hitchhiker.

This coffee colored little beauty and I mean little. Those are one pint containers
this model specimen is posing next to, well more like startled is more like it.
When I discovered this out of place lizard.

They don't much cuter than this.

Those sticky fingers of his is of no use unlike, say a gecko, whose finger are
actually sticky and can scale this enameled sink with ease.

Needless to say I was able to reach down, as it jump into my hands an was able
to put it outside, where it belongs and for it to enjoy another day in it's relatively
short life.

My Blue Cereus Update

Looking good with vigorous new growth.

Scenes From My Garden

Hmm... where do I begin.

Scene One.

Three years ago this side of the yard used to be a monoculture of Azaleas. Now it's
ablaze with diverse textures, colors and shades of green.

Whereas for the Azaleas there is room for them to expand and grow.

While there is always up and keeping plenty of openness to address
security, less apt for the nefarious to be hiding, animal or human be
what may.

There is the sculptural aspect to any plant matter, in this case an Azalea. Working with
it instead of fighting it you will find it's natural growth pattern.

Verses, fighting and having to bind, in this case a Spanish Olive tree all the
while still searching for it's secrets on how best to prune this species.

Some to most species lend them selves to pruning while others, do not.

Little does it know that this is only the beginning for this specimen.

Scene Two.

This potted Frangipani has a Dragon creeping up it's spine.

Scene Three.

Who ever said that Rain Lilies bloom every time it rains must of been dreaming,
because they don't. This scene caught my eye this afternoon and inspired this post.

All Things Albino

All living things on this planet have an albino doppelganger. Why should this oak
tree seedling be any different. I will keep an eye on it and give it some life giving
rain water and will be surprised if it lives or give me more than seven leaves.
Sometimes a plant will sport these non-chlorophyll isolated and insignificant
mutations and grow out of it. So this little guy may or may not have a future,
but my frequent waterings will guarantee it an observation from this constant
gardener and possible increase in survival.

Warts And All - Microsorum scolopendria - Wart Fern

Before and after refreshing glass vessel for this fern.
Started three years ago from a cutting and thriving in it's
watery world.

I removed some of the beach stones and replaced the
charcoal bits with new charcoal.
