Tads Day - In The Life Of

A typical day in the life of captured tadpole.

After a thorough wipe down that gives this frog a nice place to stick to, including his belly.

With four to five rain water changes a day that coincides with three to four feedings. A turkey baster
comes in handy.

A fresh pour of rain water. This time of the year there's plenty where that came from here in central Florida. I also have nine fifty-five gallon barrels of stored rain water for my other thirsty collection        of , you guessed it, plants.

The little guy to the left who just now decided to make the climb dictates the water level
this time around.

Their waste water goes to those special plants and knowing this constant gardener, there are lots
of those.

Tads Day Thirty-three - Big Party Of Thirteen

There are about sixteen ready for the jump but of those three or four still have tails.
Will have to supervise this send-off a bit closer. No id checks other than if they have
a tail, this includes dark stubs with no tail.

The tank is in dire need of a wipe down to. It's not like they are going to clean up the
place before they leave. Unless, I charge them a security deposit... hehe.

This high point is a great place to jump off from and into the great outdoors. Sunday
evening here and just after sundown and under the cover of darkness.

One of thirteen as a representative of this evenings get away, which brings us to a total of forty with
approximately fifteen to twenty left.

Fewer photo ops at night, right?

One Yellow Swallowtail Coming Up

Had to zoom in to make sure there's no egg laying going on.

Hmmmm...I count two possibly potentially suspect white spots. Will have to check those.
I just noticed that the yellow on this butterfly is nearly white. Will have to check on my white
balance in the processing.

What a beaut.

Viability Check

after a month, these Juniper props still look promising all
except three. This is my second attempt with this variety .
I changed up with the growing medium to see if it will make
 a difference.

Looks like a meal prep for a meat loaf. Just remembered to, this second
go round, I made these cuttings considerably smaller.

Now let us just cross our collective green thrumbs.

Spotted These

new pup(s) on my pot bound Clivia. Not sure about the brown one though.

Looks like a failed attempt and what looks like shriveled root off to the right,
without further investigation does not look good. But hey, there's it's backup
just below in all it's green wonder.

Which brings us to a repotting candidate. Has much Clivia's preference to be
pot bound to encouraging blooms. This specimen has been doing a great job
in that department.

Classic case of over spilling it's confines. A tornado of roots above ground anearly
running out of soil below. However the very possibility of getting more blooming
for at least a couple to three years more. Notice the berry like seed pods off to
left. Hope to harvest them in the upcoming months.

So why now, you might ask? Just, because and hey, I'm in that zone.

This picture shows off the ripening seeds better. Good thing my neighbor gave
me this heavy clay pot that help anchor this brute of beaut.

How can I forgot who I bought this from. A women named Holly and who also
is a fellow Yogi. Once a Yogi, always a Yogi.  Thank you Holly!

Tads Day Twentyeight

plus four makes twenty-four releases to date. Pictures to follow.

I had two releases today, first three are from this morning. Under the cover
of early morning darkness. Lighting provided by LA Keland Productions
of Lakeland, Fl. You got to love the convenience of portable LED lighting.

This is a fine example of amateur hiding in the urban jungle.

Maybe if I hide my head in the grass they won't see me. Almost, but not quite.

This one has a natural innate ability but still can spot you from above.

Which brings us to this evening's release of three more. Coinciding an
evening with light rain and thunder.

Where's my lighting crew when you need them. It must be in their contract about not
pulling a double in the middle of the week.

This striped wonder will represent the three of them that were released this evening.
As the two others signed a contract to not photographed in these unflattering
conditions,which brings this evening's total of twenty-seven.

Good job, all around. That's about a third that still in waiting to make this
phenomenal transition.

Black Lighted

Gotcha!

Glow baby glow.

Can't find what's eating your plant? Throw some black light and see what
you couldn't see during the day.

The clear bottle in bedded in the soil glows greener than the giant green by day
horned tomato worm shown above in all it's  mischievous purple splendor.
