Library Researsh For My House's History, Online Clerk Of Court

Spent a good part of Thursday morning and afternoon going through
of our cities City Directories. From 1928 on up to 1983, is when I
had to stop not realizing the time. Not only did I find some of the
original owners listings but several of the renters that had come
and gone over the years. Along with some of their occupations that
they would have taken time to provide for the solicited information
for these city directories.

Not to be confused with the Telephone directories, which were also
on hand in our libraries special collections.

I was able to confirm the ownership through our county's Clerk of Court
Search engine that is available online. However the only records of deeds
only go back to the early 1940's.

I hope to do some enquiries tomorrow on where I might find the first
deed or record of this house's construction,which not only to me but
to the county appraisal's office, has it listed as 1927.

Blood Oranges Are In Stores And Season

Their varying shades of red match their varying tastes. A nice change of tastes from
the typical citrus offerings. The red grapefruit are off to a great start in flavor for
what ever Winter blues you might have too.

African Violet Cutting's Roots, Tomato Plant Cuttings Set Back , Cacao Tree And A Movie

These African Violet cuttings were made just over a month a go
and just now noticing that they are beginning to root.

At the same time is when I took some Tomato cuttings due to a potential freeze.
All was well until a fungus took hold of things and  took a bite out of these
cuttings. They look just like as if a frost had settled on them.

The Tomato plant I took these cuttings from are doing quite well actually
and have Tomato blossoms also. I still hope that these cuttings pull through
so as to renew the stock for next season's crop.


The Cacao Tree is finishing up with two new leaves and is adding another
pair while it is spending it's time indoors.

There Are Still Some First's One Should Not Have To Experience, Florida State Fair Opens!

How many times have you heard how much some exotic meat is described as, that it
tastes like chicken. Well how do you describe what is supposed to be chicken, in this
case, canned chicken and it doesn't taste like chicken?

First meal and first time, that I know of, that I've eaten chicken out of a can. Perhaps
I will not dress it up as tuna so as not to taste like tuna, for starters. If it clucks like
a chicken, it should taste like a chicken.


Speaking of chicken, the Florida State Fair kicks off at the end of this week.

Taking advantage of the summer like temps today to give these to equatorial plants a break
from the indoors.

Morning fog is burning off so that it gets it's share of moisture. The closest
these two plants will get to tropical conditions.


Horsetail plant getting a new spurt of growth. Since it has been moved from a
watery tub to this relatively dry pot and with our wet winter it seems to be
thriving quite well.

Returning home from a late afternoon walk around the lake and to find that I'm being
watched by a familiar face. For all I know he could be taking a cat nap. I am envious
of his advantage point of his observation.
