Nothing Like

a cool colored flower to help lower the perceived hot and humid temperatures of our early Florida summer.

How cool is that?...hehe.

Pencil Cactus Redeux

This rescued pencil cactus gets rescued twice.  The parent plant was rescued after one our hurricanes

that decided to glance by a few years ago.

I then found this broken  but not totally so the the broken part was already mending/drying. The unique

shape of almost looking like it was weeping inspired to give it ago at a second life.

So far, so good. Misting it with my orchid fertilizer in hopes of it not scarifying the many limbs it has to

eventually support full time, all the while having to establish some roots. Lets see if I can help the establishment

of both.

New Dragons

Hmmmm...where can I find a Dragon's egg?

Starting with a store bought, I know, who would of thought you can find dragon eggs in the store...hehe.

Lot's of fresh seed.

Seeded sterile starter mix under a dome of glass, day one...

and  what   do   I   find  on   day  three?     I do believe this beats the record of stating seeds to

sprout. I've always had tomato seedlings within a week and thought that was fast.

Last Dragon...Finale

Just wow.  How do you follow that performance?

                                   Well let me try...

Xanthosoma sagittifolium, White Malanga

Bought this corm from the grocery store in hopes to grow it. I'm sure this has some growth inhibitor , even if it doesn't

appear to have any wax on it. Time will tell, once again.

Tropical Storm Elsa

Thank you for the over abundance of rain water that stood around for a day and half but not long enough for the frogs to take

advantage by laying some tadpoles. Oh well, there were be plenty more of those opportunistic events to present them selves.

A Scene From My Early Summer Garden

Timing can make a difference. Be it the year, time of day can make a world of difference to make my head turn and take notice.

I just trimmed some invading branches of a near Crape Myrtle that was stealing this palm tree's sunshine this afternoon.
