Sometimes All You Need Is Water cont'd

This so called wart fern has been in water several years now. Just scrubbed out
it's holding bin and refreshed it's base with some new charcoal bits.

These to started from cuttings and haven't left since.

Must check these watery worlds for mosquito larvae on occasion.

Sometimes All You Need Is Water

This heirloom white begonia cutting follows the norm, roots first
then plantlets, right?

Same plant with the exception that this cutting is just stem
from a leaf cutting. No leaf and look Ma, no roots and yes, those
are plantlets emerging first.
Go figure.

Clivia miniata - Kafir lily - Second Blast

These second set of blooms are a bit more pronounce and just want to be seen and taken
of advantage of as do most bloom's and their intentions. As if saying pollinate me the
way that flowers can and for us gardeners, just enjoy the show of beauty.

Canavalia gladiata - Sword Bean - Blooming!

There's nothing tiny about this specimen. These blooms are about and inch and a half, to give
some perspective.

Candidate For A Moon Garden - Clerodendrum thomsoniae

This is the first time it's bloom profusely since planing it in the ground after
many years of having been pot bound. One of  several successes from my my
campaign to get all of my potted specimens in the ground. Still long ways off
in meeting that challenge.

This night shot has all the markings for a great addition to a moon garden.
It just dawned on me the other evening in passing. These blooms are constant
for weeks if not a month and they reflect the moon's light, not present when
this picture was taken.

Imagine if the moon was out.

Plant Phenom?

So many questions, very few answers.

This Yucca plant got the last yucks.

If it's not clear what happened, apparently this Yucca's needle like appendages
pierced it's own self and got a binding that eventually it would have freed it's self
if I hadn't intervened or not.

Indoor Fawn (Amphibian) and Flora

While tending to a friends windowsill garden, out pops this long time resident
tree frog. A resident of this pocket paradise, months if not for a year and making
the best of what's available. Flies for food, a sip of water when ever the plant gets
watered, that is if they even drink.

My friend also has one of my Snail Island Aralia plants to bring the exotica to
completion.

Last Flower of It's Season?

Do first blooms get more attention than a last bloom? This jewel, an Amryilla
bloom is so far removed from it's first bloom, it will always catch my eye.
There even can be one more last one still hibernating in this small patch of
splendor.

A Night's Knight

Don't be alarmed by it's white vacant eyes, courteous of a phone's flash.
This very young house geckos is taking advantage of my putting up this screen
door to not only keep out what ever might fly in, but unknowingly play host
to our night creatures's that have an appetite for those same fly ins.

Clivia miniata - Kafir lily

As it's exotic name suggests, this Kafir lily flower emerges from it's cradled leaves.

It's orange glow caught my eye this afternoon, while watering the few captured
specimen needing human intervention.

Wow

Twice now in less than two weeks for these Rain Lillies to show what they are
all about.

What a better way to welcome and kick off our the official beginning of our rainy season.

You Go Crinum!

This red Crinum lily in dire need of some sun has been hanging in
there for the past three years. One spike of flowers instead of a
half a dozen, another indication from lack of sunshine.

A very fragrant flower too though and still well worth the wait as is
waiting for next day's blossom expansion.

Florida Baked

Temperatures in the nineties with low humidity and a steady breeze.
It's not much different than a convection oven out there.

Of course, after watering the yard is when we get a burst of rain.
So much for my phone's weather app in not having a clue.

Bright side, you ask?

This Buddha Belly bamboo is going to throw up a couple of spikes
regardless if it rains or not. Found this happening when I seeked it
out to give it a slurp of city water.

Also a Florida bramble berry of some sort that I dug up from a friend's yard.
It may have withered away in the interim but, it's back! Will make an attempt
to keep this containerized because it will run.

Cannot say that I wasn't warned.

Saving the best for last.

Collected fifty-five gallons of rain water from our latest spill from the sky.
